Tattooing and piercing...Go to your church building and take with you an awl or ice pick and poke holes in the wall of your choosing and fill it with gold, jewels or just leave the hole...No? Take then a can of spray paint or 2 or paint by the bucket and paint attractive pictures or sign your name or the name of a specific person or title...No? Why? Well, as you know a church is a temple, a place to worship God, right? You wouldn't want to deface that, would you? It is a temple made by the hands of men.
1 Corinthians 3:16-17
Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.
(You, a temple made without hands, are you worth more than brick, wood and glass?)
3 John 2
Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.
Above all things John said is that you prosper and be in health. How can this be if you're doing yourself any sort of harm?
How are we to conduct our speech?
Colossians 3:8
But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth.
Philippians 2:14
Do all things without murmurings and disputings.
Ephesians 4:29
Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.
1 Corinthians 15:33
Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.
James chapter 3
My brethren, be not many masters, knowing that we shall receive the greater condemnation. For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body. Behold, we put bits in the horse's mouths, that they may obey us; and we turn about their whole body. Behold also the ships, which though they be so great, and are driven of fierce winds, yet are they turned about with a very small helm, withersoever the governor listeth. Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth! And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell. For every kind of beasts, and of birds, is tamed, and hath been tamed of mankind: But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison. Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God. Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be. Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter? Can the fig tree, my brethren, bear olive berries? either a vine, figs? so can no fountain both yield salt water and fresh. Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him show out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom. But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth. This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish. For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work. But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be entreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy. And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace. _______
Did not God give us common sense to know how to conduct ourselves?
We shouldn't tamper with the Heavenly Ordinances
2 Timothy 3:16-17
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: that the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.
2 Peter 1:20-21
Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.
(Testifying that you should let the Bible interpret itself, for God is not the author of confusion and will not leave you in doubt).
Deuteronomy 4:2
Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish aught from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you.
Revelation 22:18-19
For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: and if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.
(If any part of the Word of God is altered where the thought, meaning and expression are in any way changed to purposely mislead in any way whatsoever, know that the author of said change is under this same condemnation).
Caution: Even the King James Version isn't 100% accurate due to the punctuation, in the original texts the writers didn't use puctuating marks, so the reader has to use context clues in order to get the correct meaning. Punctuation makes a great deal of difference when it comes to forming a specific idea i.e. where do you put the comma? Woman without her man is nothing. Do you put it before or after the word man? Don't get me wrong the KJV is by far the best version you'll ever come across. Here is how you are to study and let the scriptures interpret themselves:
Isaiah 28:10
For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little and there a little
-Here's a helpful tip: if the scriptures in any way discredit you do not go and try to discredit the scriptures, instead find what in you is out of harmony with a "thus saith the Lord" and fix it. Always be in harmony with the Creator God remember He cannot take that which is not in harmony with the character of Christ to heaven. If our character reflects the character of Christ then our lives will show it and so will the scriptures being Christ written down. The scriptures are His character that has been penned. John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. By discrediting the scriptures is to discredit God Himself. Malachi 3:6 For I am the Lord, I change not... If He never changes then to discredit His word is to discredit the Infinite, such absurdity we finite beings contain by saying to the Sovereign of the universe "You made a mistake in such and such point but I will fix it" or "You couldn't care for your word so I will take care of it myself" or just plainly "you're wrong but I will make it right." Did you not notice that it is always "I" that was the subject of the assumed need for correction? What is the center of sin? It is "I". Selfishness and ingratitude is the sin of this generation. Paul said "I die daily" in other words "I" must die and let Christ reign supreme and then others having yourself nearly non-existant. "I" should never have sway over you. Be fearful of that!!
What is the unpardonable sin? Matthew 12:31-32 Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men. And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come.
He said ALL MANNER OF SIN AND BLASPHEMY shall be forgiven unto men. So if all of that is forgivable what then is the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost? It can therefore not be a particular sin or blasphemy but a continuation in sin and/or blasphemy. When we sin the Holy Spirit comes and pricks our conscience letting us know something is wrong. His job is to convict the world of sin and to bring into remembrance all what Christ has said. So when He comes to you letting you know that what was done (or not done that you should have) is wrong He speaks to you in that still small voice. The more you ignore Him and continue in your sin the voice gets fainter and still fainter until we can no longer hear His voice. The Holy Spirit is the only medium by which we are to be sealed, He brings us to conviction and if we can no longer hear Him we no longer perceive His presence therefore we see no need of repentance. At that time the solemn proclamation is anounced,"Ephraim is joined to idols: let him alone." Hosea 4:17. Then you have grieved away the Holy Spirit lost for eternity. Now when this happens your conscience is seared and you find no real interest in truth your heart has become calloused over.
Isaiah 66:3-4 He that killeth an ox is as if he slew a man; he that sacrificeth a lamb, as if he cut off a dog's neck; he that offereth an oblation, as if he offered swine's blood; he that burneth incense, as if he blessed an idol. Yea, they have chosen their own ways, and their soul delighteth in their abominations. I also will choose their delusions, and will bring their fears upon them; because when I called, none did answer; when I spake, they did not hear: but they did evil before mine eyes, and chose that in which I delighted not.
1 Kings22:19-23 And he said, Hear thou therefore the word of the Lord: I saw the Lord sitting on His throne, and all the host of heaven standing by Him on His right hand and on His left. And the Lord said, Who shall persuade Ahab, that he may go up and fall at Ramoth-gilead? And one said on this manner, and another said on that manner. And there came forth a spirit, and stood before the Lord, and said, I will persuade him. And the Lord said unto him, Wherewith? And he said, I will go forth, and I will be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets. And He said, Thou shalt persuade him, and prevail also: go forth and do so. Now therefore, behold, the Lord hath put a lying spirit in the mouth of all these thy prophets, and the Lord hath spoken evil concerning thee.
2 Thessalonians 2:10-12 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
Ephesians 4:30 And grieve not the Holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.
Littering for example. What does it do? It ruins the scenery marring nature herself, it aids in destroying the earth.
Revelation 11:18 And the nations were angry, and thy wrath is come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that thou shouldest give reward unto thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear thy name, small and great;
and shouldest destroy them which destroy the earth.
-I have found that if you want your friends to remain yours then sacrifice and having to deal with scornful remarks as though they were rose petals knowing that its really you that got the better of them knowing that they would have suffered if what you did for them you didn't. Let me give you an example:
Your at a poker game with three of your friends and the dealer has finished and you look over your cards and lo and behold you have a Royal Flush here you have two options a fork in your path. Once you choose one you cannot then take the other. Here are these two options and there outcome:
You keep silent and in a bluffing stance so you put more in the pot and so do your friends over and over where the pot has a lot in it let's say $1,000 and then they call and you show your cards and take all there is therein. You friends are now out of money and they are very saddened by this and then they blame you. Harmony is now broken and there is strife and a division and a hatred in there hearts towards you. The result is you lost your friends and your friends also have a division amongst themselves all is havoc.
Option number two: The cards are dealt and you see that you have the highest hand so you put a little more in the pot and you make a noise that gives you away. So your friends knows your up to something so they put a little in the pot and calls. When you present your hand they will be like "man you had it all!" "you could've robbed us blind had you not given yourself away." And they scorn you and laugh at you but all in all who really was the best friend to the rest? The result you keep your friends and in a harmonious atmosphere and everyone is happy especially you because of what you did for your friends and they'll never even know.
I have found by reason of experience to respect the work of others. If you are to give some sort of account to the aspect or respect of someone's work whatever it may be because that work that people do with ambition, heart pouring imagination to create a substance with a certain form or pattern you must realize that they think or better said believe and know for a certainty that piece is a wonderful thing. Would you really want to downgrade and destroy something made from time, love, and care? Nothings perfect that's what individuality is it is the state of imperfection and difference that separates us and makes us unique.
So there is a flaw here and there when they present their work to you so what that's natural. BTW they won't present it to just anyone they have a work to protect so they give it to one they think might share the same respect for your work as they had while working on it. When they present their work to you it is as if they are bringing forth to the altar (you) a perfect gift to share. "See this here I made this come have a look." I see that there is only one reason by which a negative response is needed and that is when the work is detrimental to self or others no other reason but that stands as evidence for a negative statement or excuse to pass critical judgment.
I had a short story typed out and I took time for the effort, with the effort and was delicate in how I presented the thought, meaning and expression of all parts of the story or work. When I finished I read it over and over again each time it looked better and still better. Do you read or examine someone's work with criticism and a need to pass judgment against state of mind where your mind is already made up and without proper respect to have the work itself make up your mind? You may say "we are entitled to an opinion" but I say "it is better for yourself and those around you to uplift and encourage one to go forth and further succeed."
Is it to make yourself feel good to destroy not only someone's work but their emotions and their dignity? You may say "it betters them by going and trying harder" or something to that effect. I ask how? When their work that was done with pride and they already feel that when they are finished nothing else can be done to it that's it, it is done. They did their best and here comes one that was entrusted to give a good remark tear away everything you thought of it. Think of the Golden Rule have you not done a specific work that you did and entrusted one to say good of it but yield to it a cursing objection? How did you feel?
I doubt it was "I have to do better" then what was it before? Didn't you pour out all to create it? How much more can you do? As I said I had a work of simple fanfiction a work that I thought it couldn't get any better if it were trimmed in gold. Well I at that time was in a yahoo group called "Tinytoon Adventures" group and my story was unique that it was the fifth link in fanfiction that was previously submitted (The first ended where the second began and so on) well I submitted the last one it was to be the final piece of the short sequals I was still moderated meaning that my submissions went to the owner for approval or denial so I was waiting for her response, this is what came:
It was approved by the owner who calls herself Babs Bunny and it was submitted nearly at the same time a man who was once an english teacher who goes by the name of The JAM and guess what he had to say? He said the worst things you can say about a story with the exception of a few. He even said things I knew were untrue but he noted the most miniscule of things that the "" average Joe would have skimmed straight over making no never mind about it. What my problem was not about just the JAM and his words it was that mine and his were submitted nearly at the same time as I said earlier.
How could one read a story and make a report about it and have it submitted in a window of only a few seconds? Impossible!!! He wasn't moderated so his submissions go in automatically the owner showed him my work and more than likely had him downgrade it to dust, then when he finished his work he submitted it to the owner and the owner made the acid error of placing them together giving no room for time. It would have been prudent if the owner waited about say 15 minutes to give it the apropriate look. I tire easy of those who have nothing good to say and live a life of criticism that is critically detrimental to salvation making shipwreck of their souls by finding fault with everything.
These people are known as fault finders and will not be accepted into the Kingdom because they would eventually find fault with the Lord Himself because we can take nothing with us but our character when He returns.
